Omschrijving
Technicoll 8324 is a one-component PU glue, ideal for sandwich connections of hard foams with different thicknesses. This glue could also be used in many different combinations of materials, such as: plaster, wood, stone, ceramic and thermoplastic synthetics. A possible application is to build stables or barns by attaching two aluminium plates with foam glued in between with this Technicoll 8423 PU glue. It can also be used to glue isolation on car parts. The Technicoll 8324 PU glue is a liquid product with a long open time which hardens through contact with moisture. It forms a relatively compact, flexible connection which can be used to fill openings. For application on polyamides this product can be combined with the Technicoll 9603-1 Primer.
The Technicoll 8324 develops under the influence of moisture into a firm, flexible film. Moisture in the surface or in the air could be enough to start this process. But many times moisture will be added by using a water sprinkler. The amount of moisture in combination with the temperature decides the open time and the needed pressure times. As soon as those time intervals have passed, the maximum power is achieved, which makes it possible to further process the glued parts.
After spraying water, you can assume a pressure time of:
+20 °C: circa 120 minutes
+40 °C :circa 75 minutes
+60 °C: circa 35 minutes
The materials are to be directly combined with each other after applying the glue (or spraying the water) and during the open time. The surfaces can be fixated under pressure until the glue has hardened. The amount of pressure and the pressure procedure is depending on the type and size of the substrates. The glue itself does not need pressure to be hardened, only fixation pressure to keep the surfaces in contact. When hardened, the glue expands because it produces carbon dioxide (small amount of CO2). Foaming behavior depends on the amount of applied glue, the moisture degree and the pressure. Most of the time it (foaming) is beneficial since the holes will be firmly filled this way. Keep in mind that the glue could drip out of the holes.
