Various adhesive products are used in the processing of electronics and electrical engineering, for example, for the potting of a printed circuit board (electronics coating), fixation of battery packs or for cable attachment. Below is an overview of the most common applications and related products. Do you have any remaining questions? Contact us for a customized recommendation!

Component stabilisation, securing components to (PCB)
For bonding and stabilizing components of electrical devices printer circuit boards (PCBs)
cold welding agents are commonly used. This transparent and UV resistant adhesive product removes the top layer of a surface to glue it to the other material. Our product range includes Technicoll 108 Cold welding agent , , which is ideally suited for connecting parts of electrical appliances.
If you want to avoid removing the top layer of the surface to bond the materials, you can use a two-component product such as Technicoll 9403 MMA adhesive . Due to its short processing time and viscous and transparent properties, this adhesive is the ideal solution for the electrical and electrotechnical industry.
Potting
Potting is a form of electronics coating. In this form of potting, a complete electronic unit is filled with a solid or gelatinous composition, for high-voltage systems by excluding gaseous phenomena such as corona discharge, for resistance against shock and vibration and for the exclusion of water, moisture or corrosive agents.
When potting a circuit board using surface mount technology, molding compounds with a low glass transition temperature such as polyurethane can be used. Technicoll 9431 PU adhesive is suitable for potting due to its flexible and shock-absorbing properties. The resulting electronics coating has an excellent resistance to weathering and aging.
Epoxy is also a commonly used electronics coating. It has good fluidity and easily penetrates the opening of the product. Additionally, it can also be cured at room temperature. If you choose an epoxy adhesive as an electronics coating, we recommend using the black Technicoll 9464 Epoxyglue .
Many PCB assemblies use a layer of transparent conformal coating
as an electronics coating, such as PCB/electronics coating instead of potting. Conformal coating offers the benefits of potting and is lighter and easier to inspect, test and repair. This coating can also be applied as a liquid or condensed from a vapor phase. To apply this type of electronics coating, you can use an MS polymer adhesive such as the NPT Simp Seal57 HT .
Fixation of battery packs
Technicoll 9403 MMA glue is suitable for the fixation of e.g. battery packs. The consistency of this MMA adhesive is viscous and translucent. Technicoll 9403 is characterized by a short processing time, high temperature resistance, as well as very good flexibility and force transfer. The glued materials will be fully connected in 6 hours. This two-component product is very versatile, and can be applied in three different ways (mixing head, adhesive bead on adhesive bead, no-mix).
Electric isolation
Electrical insulation makes it possible to make beneficial and safe use of electricity.
Thus, our product range includes a grey electricial isolation tape that is 5 cm wide. The tape can be placed around a conductor for electrical insulation and to prevent unwanted currents in order to repair damage and keep any living or working space safe. This product is easy to process and long lasting.
Cable fixing or cable connection
Cable attachment or cable connection can be easily realized with hot melt. We particularly recommend the wireless Tec glue guns, because they provide the freedom to work almost anywhere. The fast but especially mobile use of these devices makes them ideal for applications such as cable fixing. Whether at baseboards or on the ceiling: Tec’s cordless glue guns can do it all.
The B-Tec 807 is a robust glue gun which is powered by a battery. The glue gun is designed to be used in combination with the widely known RYOB 18V 1.5A lithium battery system, where charging times of approximately 60 minutes can be realized. In addition, the B-Tec 807 easy and comfortable to operate , and has a warm-up time of only 3 minutes.
