Omschrijving
Technicoll 8266/8267 Epoxyglue is a pasty, thixotropic type and it consists of two components. This epoxyglue is very resistant against weather conditions and chemicals such as benzine, oil, thinned mineral acids and alkalis, which makes the glue very suitable for construction. This epoxyglue is a good electric isolator in the adhesive bond between two materials. Moreover, this glue meets the FDA-guidelines considering food packaging.
Examples of applications are the bondage of metals, ceramics, thermos hardeners, rubber, wooden materials and hard foam. Epoxyglue is also often used in the bonding of window corner connectors of injection-moulding aluminium with aluminium window profiles.
Joint surfaces have to be dry and clean, but mostly free of oil, grease or solvents. In many cases, sanding the surface beforehand will strengthen the connection. With rubber and thermos-hardeners this is generally recommended. The epoxyglue has to be carefull mixed, immediatly before the connection is made, for example with the help of the DuoMix-Bond (dubbelloops). The mixing ratio of 1:1 (volume) / 100:85 (weight) has to be exactly followed. The mixture has to be applied within the given processing time and the materials have to be combined and fixated. The epoxyglue is usually applied one-sided, with either a spatula, roller or a brush. Apply as much as needed to fully fill the joint, untill excess glue comes out of the joint when you push them together. The glue is thixotropic (stable) and does not run off of vertical surfaces. Excess glue needs to be directly removed, when you want to remove the glue when it is hardened, it is only possible to remove mechanical.
The materials can be processed at room temperature after circa 12 hours. The hardening time can be extended by applying heat. An indication of the hardening time of the Technicoll 8266/8267 at diverse temperatures:
+ 50 ° C: 4 hours
+ 75 ° C: 2 hours
+ 100 ° C: 60 minutes
+ 125 ° C: 20 minutes
+ 150 ° C: 15 minutes
Said temperatures apply for the glued connection. If the glue has to be partially hardened, half the time will be plenty. Further hardening will take place at room temperature. The end strength will then be reached within circa 7 days.
