Lijmpartner’s prices increase in 2021, what does this mean for you?
2020 was a year filled with many successes for Lijmpartner B.V. partly due to the following reasons:
- We were able to provide many satisfied customers with unique adhesive solutions that we found together in conversation.
- The new webshop has been launched!
- We wrote a guest blog on AGF.nl.
- We are still co-sponsoring the bus for the Thomashuis in Tilburg!
In 2020, the entire world was turned upside down by the pandemic. In addition, 2020 also saw major changes for the glue industry. Lijmpartner B.V. looks back on an exciting, unique and challenging 2020. We have therefore long tried to keep prices at Lijmpartner B.V. constant, however, we have now reached a point where this is no longer sustainable. At a time when prices for raw materials and transportation are rising sharply, we at Lijmpartner have also had to raise our prices.
What is the cause?
The causes lie mainly in two things that have experienced major changes in 2020:
1: Raw materials
Go directly to: Allocation of raw materials
Go directly to: Shortage of raw materials
2: Transportation
Go directly to: England and the Brexit
Go directly to: Container transport
Go directly to: COVID-19
Read more below:
Resource allocation: Some suppliers have received only one-third vs. normal requirements. This is all related to the next point, namely Shortage of raw materials.
Shortage of raw materials: Recently, raw material prices have risen sharply and our suppliers have experienced the same. All prices of materials have risen sharply and this has resulted in us at Lijmpartner B.V. deciding that this will have to result in a price increase.
England and the Brexit: The Brexit has meant that England is now more difficult for European companies to reach. Our supply from suppliers there is more difficult to arrange and also increased in price.
Container shipping: Container shipping has become more expensive, increased by factor of 4-5. The freight capacity of several large container companies has been greatly reduced. There is also a trade dispute between Australia and China, making container shipping difficult. Finally, there is high demand for these products in China, production in Asia is putting a strain on the availability of various raw materials.
COVID-19: The pandemic has caused another container shortage.
So what exactly does this mean?
As you can see, there are several factors at play, which unfortunately also affects our prices. We at Lijm Partner are doing everything we can to keep price increases as minimal as possible. Furthermore, we hope to keep you informed about the developments through this blog and hope that you will also understand.
As of February 2021, the prices of various products will be increased. In addition, the minimum shipping costs will also increase. In our new webshop you will find the new prices and our new minimum shipping amount.
Thank you for placing your trust in Lijm Partner, we look forward to continuing to help you find a suitable adhesive solution at Lijm Partner. You are a valued customer of ours.
