What is epoxyglue?
Epoxyglue is an adhesive that consists out of 2 components. This adhesive makes sure that there is a strong and quick bonding. Also, the epoxyglue is resistant to water, grease, solvents, heat and cold.
The 2 components are stored separately and are mixed during the use. The mixing can be done by using a special mixing nozzle (DuoMix-Bond Dubbelloops) or manually. While mixing, a chemical reaction is created, this reaction is exothermic. This means that it releases energy during the hardening by warmth. After hardening, you are assured of a strong and stable connection!
What is epoxy used for?
Epoxy is good to use on different surfaces. Such as wood, metal, aluminium, polyester, plastics, stone, concrete and more. Due to this, it is perfect to use to create an extra strong glued connection.
Wood.
Epoxyglue is mostly used with wood to fill up holes and cracks. First, sand the to be glued surface and make sure that that surface is dust-free. Mix the 2 components in an 1-to-1 ratio and fill up the damaged area. For the best finish you can wipe away the excess glue with a smooth surface, such as a spatula. After the adhesive is dried, the surface can be finished by sanding and even paint.
Metal.
Epoxyglue is used on different metals to combine two surfaes with eachoter. This offers a cleaner solution than welding or screwing. For example for combining tools, fences and car parts. Metals can also be coated with epoxy, for a clean and smooth finish.
Concrete.
Epoxyglue can also be used for glueing or filling concrete (or stone). Due to the resistance of epoxy against many external factors this adhesive is suited for glued connections on concrete and stone. For the filling, follow the steps in appliance of epoxy on wooden materials.
